Eagles Star Saquon Barkley Announces Engagement To Longtime Girlfriend Anna Congdon

NFL star Saquon Barkley has revealed that he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Anna Congdon, as he prepares to take the field in Super Bowl LIX.

Barkley, 27, shared the news with reporters, expressing gratitude for Congdon’s unwavering support throughout his career and their life together.

“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have in my career without the help of her,” Barkley said. “She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life. There’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”

Barkley and Congdon met at Penn State University and have been together since 2017. The couple shares two children: daughter Jada, born in April 2018, and son Saquon Jr., born in September 2022.

“And now we got a 6-year-old who’s about to be seven, who knows it all already, and then our son who’s all into toys and trucks and cars and he’s just a boy. He likes fighting, he likes playing football. So we cherish all those moments,” Barkley added.

The engagement announcement coincides with Barkley’s upcoming Super Bowl appearance with the Philadelphia Eagles and his role in a commercial for the snack brand Flipz. “Yeah, we’re in the basement trying to keep ’em quiet,” he joked while filming the ad at home with his fiancée and kids.

Barkley, a longtime fan of Flipz, called it “an amazing snack” and praised its “great blend of sweet and salty.” He added, “It’s cool to see, now as an adult and having children, that my kids love it too.”

His 28th birthday also falls on Super Bowl Sunday, making the high-stakes matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs even more significant. “The best birthday gift you can have is playing in the Super Bowl, and the only thing better than that is winning the Super Bowl on your birthday,” he said.
