Dzhokhar A Tsarnaev, one of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing, is currently at large. His older brother and the other suspect in the fatal explosion, identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev, died in a bloody shooting early Friday morning.
The missing Tsarnaev brother is a 19-year-old resident of Cambridge, Mass. He reportedly resided with his brother in the Boston neighborhood and had been living in the United States for roughly a decade after immigrating from Russia, according to the Independent. His father, Anzor Tsarnaev, described Tamerlan as "a true angel" and revealed that he was in his second year of medical school.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev seems to have attended high school in Cambridge, and subsequently received a scholarship for college. While at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, Dzhokhar was an all-star wrestler, reported USA Today. He was currently enrolled at UMass Dartmouth, revealed university spokesman Robert Lamontagne, according to the Wall Street Journal. Those who knew him described him as a nice normal young man.
Boston police and swat teams have covered the streets of Watertown, Mass., a town that rests six miles north of Boston, announced Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis. They are currently conducting a house-to-house search in a 20-block perimeter. The entire city of Boston and surrounding suburbs is under a 'shelter in place' order. In a news conference, Davis stated,"We believe this to be a terrorist. We believe this to be a man who has come here to kill people. We need to get him in custody."
Late last night, Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev attempted an armed roberry of a Cambridge 7-Eleven. After gunning down a police officer near Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the two brothers carjacked a black Mercedes and were chased by police, reported the Boston Globe. The two suspects launching explosive devices at the pursuing officers and a firefight ensued that resulted in Tamerlan's death.
Connecticut State Police have been put on alert for a gray Honda CRV with license plate number 316 ES9 that may be occupied by Dzhokhar.
