Actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson revealed that he would not endorse President Joe Biden in the upcoming election and regrets doing so in the 2020 election.
This year’s election will again be a rematch between Biden and Donald Trump.
In an interview with Fox News, Johnson explained the differences between the two elections and the responsibility he felt he had in endorsing a president.
“The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. And I thought back then, when we talk about, ‘Hey, you know, I’m in this position where I have some influence, and it’s my job then’ — I felt like that then — ‘it’s my job now to exercise my influence and share this is who I’m going to endorse.'”
“Am I going to do it again this year? That answer’s no.”
According to Johnson, the U.S. is a different country than it used to be.
“Am I happy with the state of America right now? Well, that answer’s no. Do I believe we are going to get better? I believe in that.”
This year, Johnson decided to be private with his vote, supporting the American people’s decisions.
“I will keep my politics to myself,” he said. “It is between me and the ballot box. Like a lot of us out there, not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people and whoever they vote for. That is my president and who I will support 100%.”
Johnson’s name has been suggested as a presidential candidate for some time now. Recently, he revealed that both presidential parties sought him out as a presidential candidate.
