Dustin Diamond Ordered To Prison After Bar Stabbing

Dustin Diamond checked into an Ozaukee County, Wisc., prison on Friday to begin his four-month sentence for a 2014 stabbing.

The bar room brawl happened Christmas Day and took a turn when Diamond pulled out a knife and stabbed a man. The actor was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. During his trial back in June, Diamond argued that he had pulled the knife to defend himself and fiance, Amanda Schutz, who was later found guilty of disorderly conduct.

The two were ordered to pay $1,500 in restitution to the victim who suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound.

In December, Diamond withdrew his appeal and released a statement:

“I sincerely apologize to everyone involved,” the actor said during his sentencing. “This was the single most terrifying experience of my life … This is all I’ve been able to think about for the last six months.” Diamond added that he proposed pulling out the knife would stop the fight. “Let me express just how sorry I am that a night that centers around celebrating peace and love could turn into a night of immense regret for the rest of one’s life,” Diamond said at his sentencing in June. “Even though my intentions were solely to defend a loved one, they nevertheless were the cause of the single most terrifying experience of my entire life.”

The former Saved By The Bell star also added, ” want it to be clear that this situation will never be repeated again,” Diamond added. “I sincerely apologize to everyone, not just those directly involved, and ask for forgiveness for the way the night was handled.”
