The Duggar family may have had their lives showcased on national television for seven years (19 Kids and Counting), but just like any other family, they also have their fair share of secrets.
A new series set to premiere on Prime Video will disclose what goes on behind doors in Shiny Happy People: Dugger Family Secrets.
“There’s a story that’s going to be told,” said Jill Duggar, the fourth child of Jim and Michelle Duggar. “And I would rather be the one telling it.”

In addition to the second daughter of the Duggar family, her husband, Derick Dillard and cousin Amy King are also revealed in the trailer.
Although the documentary title suggests secrets regarding the Duggar family alone, the trailer suggests otherwise, focusing on Gothard’s ‘evil’ teachings instead.
“IBLP teachings aren’t Christianity, ” one person said. “They’re something entirely different.”
“The institute raises little predators,” another person said.
IBLP stands for the Institute in Basic Life Principles and is a non-denominational Christian organization founded by Bill Gothard in 1961 when the founder “focused on helping teenagers and their parents make wise choices.”
“The biggest feature of Gothard’s teachings is authority,” the trailer notes. “Kids obey their parents, wives obey their husbands [and] everyone obeys Bill Gothard.”
“This is much bigger than the Duggars.”
The docuseries will be available to watch on Friday, June 2.
