Drew Barrymore’s half-sister Jessica Blyth Barrymore was found dead in a parked car on Tuesday in California. She was 47.
Jessica Barrymore was discovered reclined in the driver’s seat of her Toyota Camry by National City, Calif., resident Maria Lopez. Upon spotting a drink between her legs and pills scattered on the passenger seat, Lopez called police, according to ABC affiliate 10 News.
Upon learning of her estranged relative’s passing, Drew Barrymore released a statement. “Although I only met her briefly, I wish her and her loved ones as much peace as possible and I'm so incredibly sorry for their loss,” the statement read.
Jessica and Drew Barrymore were both daughters of John Drew Barrymore. Jessica was the daughter of John’s fourth wife Nina Wayne, while Drew is the daughter of Jaid Barrymore.
