Women’s Wear Daily, more popularly known as WWD, had its 2019 WWD Honors dinner on October 29 at the InterContinental New York Barclay. WWD is a trade journal that focuses on fashion and delivers the latest news on designers, celebrity trend setters and the fashion industry as a whole.

Its annual dinner was held to honor the people making moves and statements in the fashion industry and celebrate 11 of the biggest fashion and beauty leaders in the world. The most celebrated award of the evening, the John B. Fairchild Honor, was given to Giorgio Armani. Armani is the founder of the famous Italian luxury fashion house Giorgio Armani, which consists of leathery goods, shoes, watches and much more. The designer also gave a rare live interview upon his acceptance of the award. In addition, the Honor for Corporate Citizenship award was given to Stella McCartney, the Best-Performing Fashion Company award was given to Lululemon Athletica and the Best-Performing Retailer award was given to REVOLVE.

Other celebrities in attendance at the fashion event were Drew Barrymore and Emmy Rossum. Rossum posted her chic red carpet look to Instagram and congratulated Armani, captioning the photo “Bravo, Giorgio Armani, on your honor tonight and Roberta Armani for being the best date.”
