On Monday, Drena De Niro, the adopted daughter of legendary actor Robert De Niro, paid a visit to the grave of her late son, Leandro De Niro-Rodriguez, who had died of an accidental fentanyl overdose on July 2.

Drena posted an Instagram tribute to Leandro, which included five images.

The tribute’s first image featured Drena and an unnamed friend at her son’s graveside, and the second image showed flowers laid at Leandro’s grave.

Other images included a picture of a rock that had a winged heart on it and one of two sentences written on the other side of the rock. One sentence read, “To Leo, we love you,” and the other one read, “The world misses you.”

In the caption, she wrote, “If everyone valued the depth of love & sadness, a person can feel I don’t believe we’d have wars. We wouldn’t hurt children, animals, each other, our planet and oceans the way we do. I’m grieving for myself, my loved ones and everyone who has ever lost a child or one whom they’ve loved so deeply. I’ll never get used to this, no one should. Praying for the whole world to heal and for this heart that beats inside me to find peace.”

Drena also posted several stories.

One showed the image of the winged heart on the rock with an Italian caption reading, “Mi manchi motto molto, il mio amore, mio cuore, Leo.” This can be translated into English as, “I miss you very much, my love, my heart, Leo.”
