Drake
Drake took the diss to a whole new level last weekend at his own festival in Toronto — the OVO Fest. Drake headlined the last night of the fest, as well as some guests — Kanye West (who performed his greatest hits for half an hour), Pharrell Williams, Future and Travi$ Scott.
Twitter has been exploding with activity at Meek Mill‘s expense. Drake took inspiration from some of the memes and showed them at the OVO Fest performing his two Meek Mill diss songs, while a kind of a PowerPoint presentation was displayed behind him, showing a compilation of the best memes about the diss.
As Drake was singing the first verse of “Charged Up,” a big iPhone appeared on the screen, being charged up. When the battery level reached 100%, the rapper jumped on stage and did “Back To Back,” with the crowd singing along him. The line “Is that a world tour or your girl’s tour?” particularly seemed to get a rise out of the crowd.
The diss started a few weeks ago when Mill accused Drake of having used a ghostwriter for a song he was featured on Mill’s album. Drake usually doesn’t answer such disses, but he did twice – and might a third time. He gave a snippet of a new song to the audience at the fest: “Oh man not again…”
A video of Drake, West and Will Smith laughing to the memes backstage after the show also surfaced today. And yes, Kanye was laughing.
