Actress Cassie Steele has taken part in the latest Tik Tok trend, the “Buss It” challenge, and former costar Drake approves.
Last week, Steele took part in the challenge by creating one of Manny Santos’ iconic looks from Degrassi: The Next Generation. In the video, also shared to her Instagram, Steele starts off dancing in baggy clothes with a towel on her head before dropping to the floor, transforming her outfit into a long-sleeved crop top with low-rise jeans that revealed the top of a bright blue thong.
The scandalous outfit is a throwback to the third season of the Canadian series in which Manny went to school wearing a visible thong to gain attention from her male classmates.
“For everyone who enjoys a good throwback outfit! #mannysantos #ugotthelook #bussitchallenge,” she captioned the video.
Drake, who famously got his start on the series as Jimmy Brooks, commented on Steele’s post. He wrote, “Fit is museum worth tbh Santos.”
“They’ll probably put it beside the ruby slippers,” Steele responded.
Drake, who’s real name is Aubrey Graham, starred on the high school set drama for 100 episodes as a basketball player who becomes paralyzed after a school shooting. The rapper never seemed to forget his acting roots, even reuniting the cast for his 2018 music video, “I’m Upset.”
Degrassi: The Next Generation ran for 14 seasons from 2001-2015, airing on both Canadian and U.S. TV, following the lives of students at Degrassi Community School as they struggle with relationships, friendships, mental health, drug and alcohol addictions, gambling problems, teen pregnancy and so much more.
