Drake Mocked For Lil Wayne Face Tattoo, But Weezy Approves

Drake has a new tattoo and it has gotten people talking. For the most part, though, the talk hasn’t been too kind.

The OVO rapper’s newest ink is a portrait of the rapper’s mentor, Lil Wayne. Drake first revealed the tattoo in a picture he posted to Instagram.

Quickly, fans began to comment about the “weird” tattoo. One user commented that Drake had gotten a tattoo of a man who was only making a “business decision” and who would have cut all ties with him had Drake’s music not been so financially successful.

But while some of the fans don’t necessarily like the new art, the man of honor does.

According to TMZ, the New Orleans rapper was “floored” and “honored” when Drake sent him a picture of the tattoo.

Additionally, TMZ reports that the Canadian rapper got the tattoo at least five months ago when he was overseas.

Drake has a history of tattooing portraits of people who have inspired him on his body. Currently, Wayne’s portrait joins the likes of singer Sade and the late singer Aaliyah. He also a mini-portrait of his father tattooed on his arm.

Lil Wayne and Drake first began working together during Wayne’s Tha Carter III tour in 2008. After recording several collaborations together for Drake’s breakthrough mixtape So Far Gone, the duo became closer.

Drake signed to Lil Wayne’s record label Young Money Entertainment in 2009.

Since its inception, the record label has produced 12 number one selling albums, half of which are Drake albums.

Drake is currently the fifth richest rapper, according to Forbes. The fourth richest is Birdman, Lil Wayne’s mentor and a co-creator of Young Money Entertainment.
