The Canadian rapper first gained popularity by starring as Jimmy Brooks in the teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. In music, he became well-known for singing and adding R&B influences to his rapping. This resulted in the success of his first three albums, propelling him to the top of the charts.

Drake has continued to explore different music genres, infusing dancehall in Views (2016) and house in Honestly, Nevermind (2021). He has won numerous awards, including five Grammy Awards and a record 34 Billboard Music Awards.
