Dracula: A Comedy Of Terrors is everything you want in an off-Broadway show – funny, campy and wildly creative. Now playing at Manhattan’s New World Stages, this Dracula has its fangs firmly in cheek using four actors to play all the major roles.
Dracula (James Daly) relocates from Transylvania to the British countryside in order to pursue the perfect neck of Lucy (Jordan Boatman), who is the betrothed of his timid real estate broker Jonathan (Andrew Keenan-Bolger).
The play, adapted from a 2020 podcast, was written hilariously by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen with direction by Greenberg. It builds the zany fun as sexy Dracula proves himself to be an equal-opportunity bloodsucker. The roles (and genders) swap at breakneck speed until it reaches a delirious climax that’s well worth the 90-minute run time.
Dracula: Comedy Of Terrors is now playing at New World Stages until January 7. Get your tickets now.
