Dr. Dre’s wife Nicole Young has filed for divorce after being married to the rapper for 24 years. Young filed for divorce on Monday in the Los Angeles County Superior Court and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for separation.
With no reports of a prenuptial agreement, Young is also asking for spousal support from her husband. Dr. Dre has made a lot of money from his time as a member of the popular hip hop group N.W.A., his solo rapping career, music producing, co-owning Death Row Records and founding and acting as the CEO of Aftermath Entertainment and Beats Electronics. Beats was later sold to Apple for $3 billion. Forbes estimates Dr. Dre’s worth to be at $800 million.
Dr. Dre posted with his wife on Instagram in 2018 celebrating their wedding anniversary of 22 years. He wrote, “22nd Anniversary! Headed to see Hamilton.” The photo is the couple in front of a helicopter and then another selfie inside of it.
Their last public appearance together was made in February at the Tom Ford AW20 fashion show in Hollywood alongside their daughter.
The couple shares two adult children together. Their son Truice is 23 year sold and their daughter Truly is 19. Dr. Dre has four other children from previous relationships. Young was previously married to former NBA player Sedale Threatt while Dr. Dre was never married before.
