A nationwide manhunt ended in a high-speed car chase early Wednesday morning when the now-infamous Dougherty gang — siblings Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, Ryan Edward Dougherty, 21, and Dylan Dougherty Stanley, 26 (half sibling to the former two) — attempted to outrun police in an 11-minute chase in Colorado.
The siblings were driving at over 100 mph when their stolen Subaru hit a guard rail and flipped over. Lee Grace, who was not injured, instigated a shoot-out with officers before being shot in the leg and apprehended. One of the brothers was also caught after the crash, but the other took off running, to be captured at a nearby construction site shortly afterwards.
The trouble for the trio began over a week ago in Florida when they fired at a police officer after the younger brother, Ryan, refused to register in the state as a sex offender. Dylan and Lee Grace had had scrapes with the law themselves, from drug convictions to domestic violence. After they started running from the law, they robbed a bank in Georgia using an ak-47 and a machine gun.
The siblings will go in front of a judge on today, when they will be advised of the charges against them, reports NBC News. "They were extremely dangerous," says Dave Joly of the FBI. "The baddest of the bad."

Two brothers and a sister spent less than a fortnight on the run before being spotted and trapped. After a short chase at high speeds, their automobile careened off the road and they were detained. Here is the proof: Dougherty Gang crime spree brought to an end.
