Donald Trump, Weighing In At 267 Pounds, Shares Diet Goals, Medical Records With Dr. Oz
Donald Trump sat down with celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz to chat about his medical records and weight loss goals on Wednesday for an episode that will air Thursday.
Donald Trump Weight Loss Talk With Dr. Oz
Trump, 70, announced earlier this week that he would be sharing the results of his most recent medical exam with Dr. Oz on his TV show. While Trump didn’t hand over the exact results, he handed over a summary that was put together by his longtime physician Dr. Harold Bornstein – the Lenox Hill Hospital doctor that wrote the last summary of the Republican presidential nominee’s health.
The Dr. Oz show released a statement following the taping to explain what was discussed between the doctor and presidential hopeful.
“As all physicians do when seeing a patient for the first time, Dr. Oz took Mr. Trump through a full review of systems including the following: nervous system; head and neck; hormone levels; cardiovascular health and related medications; respiratory health; gastrointestinal health; bladder or prostate health; dermatological health; history of cancer,” reads the statement, which added that they also reviewed, “family medical history — occurrence of Alzheimer’s or dementia, heart disease, cancer in relatives.”
Though the specifics of the interview won’t be known until the Dr. Oz episode airs Thursday, an audience member has revealed some details of the exchange to NBC News reporter Katy Tur. According to the source, Trump’s blood pressure is good, and that his cholesterol is good due to medication. The real estate mogul also shows no signs of having a prior heart attack. Most worrying about the results that Dr. Oz shared about Trump was his weight, which is reportedly 267 pounds.
“Not knowing if we would see Mr. Trump’s medical records, I planned to do a full review of systems with Mr. Trump. I did that as planned when he sat down with me. He answered all my questions,” Oz told CNN. “We then discussed the need for transparency around both candidates medical records.”
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who is currently battling pneumonia, is expected to release a more detailed medical report of her own in the near future.
