Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump has reportedly been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

While it is unclear who nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, Kristian Berg Harpviken, a Nobel watcher and the director of the Peace Research Institute in Oslo, told the French news agency AFP that he had received a copy of Trump’s nomination later which said Trump should be awarded the prize for “his vigorous peace through strength ideology.”

It seems that Trump’s controversial policies, which include banning Muslims from entering the U.S., have some people convinced that he should be getting international recognition instead of the international condemnation he has been receiving.

Recommendations for nomination can be submitted by anyone who meets the nomination criteria. Typically the Nobel Peace Prize panel receives over 200 endorsements. Other rumored nominees this year include German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Pope Francis, although the nominees officially cannot be revealed until 50 years later.

Harpviken did not list Trump as one of the candidates who has a chance of winning the prestigious prize.
