Donald Trump’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and his new girlfriend, Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, were seen mingling with family at Mar-a-Lago last week, solidifying their relationship to the public.
Since Trump Jr. split up from his fiancé of nearly four years, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Anderson has wasted no time schmoozing with Trump insiders. Since she and Trump Jr. started dating, she has made a concentrated effort to integrate herself into the family and was heard saying that she would help the Trump administration appeal to “the more sophisticated and liberal Hamptons and Palm Beach types of people.”
Anderson has also supposedly expressed her intent to serve on one of the Trump White House’s community outreach boards or advisory committees, and more specifically, a desire to serve as the top spot on the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities.
However, when asked whether Anderson would be receiving the appointment, a spokesperson for Trump Jr. asserted, “This is totally wrong – not only is she not getting one, she has never brought up wanting one.”
Currently, Anderson is on the board for the Project Paradise Film Fund, which gives out $25,000 grants to filmmakers making movies about Florida’s wildlife, the proceeds of which are donated to conservation efforts.
Anderson had reportedly pressured Trump Jr. to find a way to make Guilfoyle “go away” so they could be together. Perhaps not coincidentally, immediately after Trump Jr. called off their engagement, his father announced that Guilfoyle would serve as the new U.S. ambassador to Greece.
Trump announced the appointment via Truth Social, writing how Guilfoyle’s “extensive experience and leadership in law, media and politics along with her sharp intellect” made her “supremely qualified to represent the United States, and safeguard its interests abroad.”
Anderson and Trump Jr.’s relationship had been an open secret in Palm Beach before it became public. The couple was even photographed kissing at a restaurant over the summer.
