Donald Trump Jr., a week after sparking backlash for referencing “gas chambers” in an interview, is in the news again after comparing Syrian refugees to Skittles on Twitter.

Donald Trump Jr. Syrian Refugees Gaffe

Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter on Monday with a tweet about Syrian refugees that was on-message for his father Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign. “This image says it all,” Trump’s eldest son wrote. “Let’s end the politically correct agenda that doesn’t put America first. #trump2016.”

The image Trump Jr. had posted featured a bowl of Skittles and was captioned, “If I had a bowl of Skittles and I told you just three would kill you. Would you take a handful? That’s our Syrian refugee problem.”

Wrigley, which owns Skittles, was quick to respond to the tweet.

“Skittles are candy. Refugees are people. We don’t feel it’s an appropriate analogy. We will respectfully refrain from further commentary as anything we say could be misinterpreted as marketing,” the company said in an statement from a spokeswoman.

Wrigley’s sentiment was shared by many on the internet, who took to social media with images of young refugees.
