Donald Trump Attacks ‘Morning Joe’ Hosts Joe Scarborough & Mika Brzezinski, Twitter Responds

Donald Trump sent out two personal tweets aimed at Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

DONALD TRUMP ATTACKS MORNING JOE, TWITTER RESPONDS

The tweets were possibly the most personal he’s sent out since becoming president. “I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore),” he said. “Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came…..to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!”

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders went straight to the president’s defense, though many other Democrats and Republicans alike criticized Trump. “Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America,” tweeted out Republican Senator Lindsey Graham in response. “Please just stop. This isn’t normal and it’s beneath the dignity of your office,” said Republican Senator Ben Sasse.

Meghan McCain, media personality and daughter of Sen. John McCain, tweeted as well. “I do not think making fun of a woman’s looks is acceptable. I get it every day of my life. I think that tweet is cruel – and unpresidential.” And in another tweet, “What does Ivanka [Trump] think of this?”

MSNCB spokesman Mark Kornblau tweeted, “Never imagined a day when I would think to myself, ‘it is beneath my dignity to respond to the President of the United States.'”

NBC News contributor and historian Michael Beschloss looked to the Founding Fathers for guidance. “George Washington wrote John Adams in 1789 that a President of the United States must “maintain the dignity of Office,” he tweeted.

Brzezinski herself finally tweeted out her own response – just a photo of a Cheerio’s cereal ad that reads, “Made For Little Hands,” a reference to a common Trump insult.

It is unclear what set off Trump’s tweets, but the morning show did accuse the president of lying this morning. “Nothing makes a man feel better than making a fake cover of a magazine about himself, lying every day and destroying the country,” Brzezinski said on the show, speaking about a story that claimed Trump hangs fake magazine covers of himself in his various golf country clubs.
