Dolores O’Riordan’s Boyfriend Olé Koretsky Speaks Out About Singer’s Death

Cranberries lead singer Dolores O’Riordan died on Monday, Jan. 15 in London, and her boyfriend Olé Koretsky is speaking out. She was 46.

Koretsky is a record producer and had been working with the Cranberries singer, as well as The Smiths’ Andy Rourke, in a new band called D.A.R.K. On the group’s website, Koretsky wrote: “My friend, partner, and the love of my life is gone. My heart is broken and it is beyond repair. Dolores is beautiful. Her art is beautiful. Her family is beautiful. The energy she continues to radiate is undeniable. I am lost. I miss her so much. I will continue to stumble around this planet for some time knowing well there’s no real place for me here now.”

Three weeks before her death, O’Riordan shared with her fans that she was feeling well after performing for the first time since canceling her July 2017 tour due to health issues. “Hi All, Dolores here. Feeling good! I did my first bit of gigging in months at the weekend, performed a few songs at the Billboard annual staff holiday party in New York with the house band,” she said on Facebook. “Really enjoyed it! Happy Christmas to all our fans!! Xo.”

The band’s remaining members, Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan, and Fergal Lawler also posted a note about O’Riordan’s passing. “We are devastated on the passing of our friend Dolores,” they said in a tweeted statement. “She was an extraordinary talent and we feel very privileged to have been part of her life from 1989 when we started the Cranberries. The world has lost a true artist today.”

O’Riordan is survived by her three children – Taylor, 20, Molly, 16, and Dakota, 12 – with her ex-husband, former Duran Duran tour manager Don Burton. The pair were married from 1994 to 2014.
