Last night on The Voice, Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus partnered up to sing a duet of “Jolene” with background a cappella by Pentatonix.
Parton visited the show to promote her new NBC Christmas movie Christmas of Many Colors. She also happens to be Cryus’s godmother, so the chemistry was wonderful. Parton had previously performed “Jolene” with Pentatonix, but the addition of Cyrus’s smokey voice added to the song.
In addition to their killer performance, The Voice narrowed down their contestants from 10 to 8. Blake Shelton lost two of his three singers, Austin Allsup and Courtney Harrell, so he will have just Sundance Head going into the semifinals. Judges Cyrus and Alicia Keys each have two singers still vying for the top spot, and Adam Levine has all three.
