Songstress Dolly Parton announced that she will be hitting the road and will be visiting over 60 cities across the United States and Canada.
Parton will also be promoting her newest double-disc release, Pure & Simple With Dolly’s Biggest Hits. No tour dates have been released yet.
Parton will be singing her classics as well as some newer tracks from her recent release.
“We’re so excited to get out there and see the fans again,” Parton wrote on her website. “I’m really looking forward to singing songs the fans have not heard in a while, as well as the hits, while debuting a few new ones off Pure & Simple.”
Parton’s TV biopic, NBC’s Coat of Many Colors, will be released on DVD May 3.
During a press release for Pure & Simple, the singer said the concert will be an acoustic version of some of her biggest hits: We don’t have a lot of electric instruments,” she explained. “We don’t have a lot of video; we don’t have any, really. In the bigger places where we play we’ll have to have some video cameras, where you’ll see me – because I’m so little. But actually, I’m doing a lot of songs really scaled-down. . . but, of course, I do a lot of talkin’. What else would I do, right?”
Parton also took to Twitter to announce her upcoming tour. She tweeted, “It’s official! I’m hitting the
road later this year and I’m keeping it #PureAndSimple!”
