In a bit of a Twitter rant last night, the artist Doja Cat told fans “I can’t wait to f––king quit I can’t wait to f––king disappear anymore. Everything is dead to me, music is dead.” The night she sent these tweets, she changed her Twitter username to “i quit,” and doubled down by changing it to “i quit still” today.
The artist has been touring South America but had to cancel a performance at Asuciónico 2022 in Paraguay’s capital city, and she began tweeting increasingly incensed responses to some Paraguayan fans that seemed upset that she didn’t release a public statement regarding the cancellation.

While she is certainly being a little snarky to fans, the Planet Her artist doesn’t really owe anyone an apology especially since the cancellation was out of her control. She responded to one fan simply with “I’m not sorry,” but made even longer screeds in responses like the above tweet.
While she still hasn’t changed her Twitter username back or issued any statements reversing her claims of quitting, she is still at least completing this current set of tour stops. She tweeted about her upcoming Brazil show Friday ignoring the controversy she had been stirring up saying, “giving brazil the best wig of this era.”
It remains to be seen whether the singer and rapper is truly retiring from music or not. Planet Her was a hugely successful 2021 release and has generated a ton of Grammy buzz for the singer. If she went out now, she would certainly be bowing out on top at the height of her popularity.
