Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman Rushes Home To Be With His Three-Year-Old Son In Hospital

Los Angeles Dodgers player Freddie Freeman flew home this week after his three-year-old-son was put in the pediatric ICU.

Max Freeman was admitted to the hospital in July and diagnosed with transient synovitis, or irritable hip. He had stopped eating and drinking, could not stand, sit or walk and appeared very lethargic.

He was also diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare autoimmune condition that affects the nerves, causing full-body paralysis a few days later.

Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, shared an update about their son in a joint Instagram post on Sunday.

“After 8 long days in the Pediatric ICU, we are officially HOME!” they wrote. They said Max “still has a long road ahead of him to regain his strength and relearn how to walk.”

“Thank you God for this miracle. Also, thank you to our incredible team of doctors and angel nurses for taking such good care of our boy. And to our village for helping so much with Charlie and Brandon,” they continued.

According to an Instagram post from Chelsea earlier this month, Freddie was in Houston when Max fell ill and “rushed to the first flight back home.”
