New footage shows a giant shark lodging its teeth into a snorkeler, leaving her with a six-inch-wide wound.
Ibrahim Shafeeg, 37, a marine photographer known as “The Shark Guy,” frequently posts underwater footage on his TikTok where he has 65,000 followers.
He and his friend, Carmen Canovas Cervello, 30, had been diving at Vaavu Atoll in the Maldives when they came across a pack of ten nurse sharks from 198 pounds to 220 pounds.
Shafeeg caught the jaw-dropping footage on his Go-Pro.

The two adventurers dove into the middle of the pack to get a closer look, and after swimming with them for 45 minutes with no issue, one of them decided to go in for a meal.
In the footage, you can see the shark loom over Cervello and quickly go in for a bite. The wound was minor, and the couple believed the bite was a warning advising them they were getting too close.
Cervello was unbothered by the bite and returned to the shark-infested waters after being treated in the hospital.
“After the shark bite, we thought nothing major about it as it was only a minor injury, so we cleaned the wound and continued snorkeling at the same spot,” said Shafeeg.
