Disney’s ‘Moana’ Trends On Twitter After The Release Of Trailer

Last week, Walt Disney Animation Studios released the first teaser for the new film Moana.

According to the data analytics firm ListenFirm Media, the trailer generated the most likes, discussion and engagement on Twitter leading up to Sunday.

Moana is Disney’s first leading female character identified as a Pacific Islander. The film tells the story of the title character’s journey around the Pacific Ocean on a mission to save her family. On her travels, Moana, voiced by Auli’i Carvalho, meets the demigod Maui, voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Together they sail through the ocean on an action-packed voyage.

The movie features music written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina.

The animated film is set to be out this Thanksgiving.
