In a new episode of his podcast Armie HammerTime, Armie Hammer joked about being called a “cannibal rapist,” ahis mother pushed back on.
Known for his roles in The Social Network and Sorry to Bother You, Hammer’s height of fame was in 2021 when his ex-girlfriend came forward to accuse him of violent abuse and having cannibalistic qualities and fantasies. His ex-girlfriend’s report prompted other women to come forward with similar accusations. Despite Hammer’s vehement denial of all allegations, his reputation took a hit, and he has been out of work for the last few years.
On Monday’s episode, which featured Hammer’s mother, Dru, Hammer laughed about the accusations, “All of a sudden someone is like, ‘He’s a cannibal rapist,’ and it just was like [explosion sound].”
However, Dru did not seem affected by Hammer’s insensitive comments and laughed along, “If there were anything at all that you did as far as a rape accusation, they would have nailed you – pardon the pun.”
Dru recalled, “I even called you one time, and I was like, ‘OK, let me just get this straight, are there any women out there with ribs or limbs missing?'”
Dru revealed her solution to her son’s alarming behavior: “Let’s talk about what I gave you for your birthday this year.”
Prompted by Hammer, Dru recounted, “So I call Armie, and I go, ‘Armie, what would you like for your birthday this year?’ And he goes, ‘Oh, I don’t know, maybe money, whatever.’ And I was like, ‘I believe I’m going to give you a vasectomy.'”
She explained she wanted to ensure Hammer’s future relations would not result in unwanted babies.
Hammer was previously married to Chambers and share two children, Harper, 9, and Ford, 7. Married in 2010, the couple split in July 2020.
Armie HammerTime aired for the first time a few months ago, as Hammer was hired for his first public job since the slew of allegations against him. Dru and Hammer’s two-part episodes are the third and fourth episodes of the podcast.
