Disgraced Actor Armie Hammer Denies Cannibalism Claims In New Interview

Actor Armie Hammer has spoken out against rumors surrounding his rehabilitation and controversial allegations, offering new insights into his recent struggles.

In an interview with Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Hammer, 37, addressed speculation about his treatment and relationship with fellow actor Robert Downey Jr. The Call Me by Your Name star firmly denied reports that Downey had financed his rehabilitation, stating, “He did not pay for me to go to rehab.”

While Hammer declined to provide specifics, he acknowledged Downey’s supportive role during his challenging period. The actor described Downey as a figure in Hollywood known for reaching out to those battling addiction issues, whether related to alcohol, drugs or other dependencies.

Hammer shared a piece of advice he received from Downey: “Sit down, shut up, everything is going to be okay.” He expressed gratitude for the support he’s received, emphasizing his desire to avoid implicating others in his situation.

The interview also touched on the serious allegations that have surrounded Hammer since 2021, including claims of emotional abuse, manipulation and sexual assault. Notably, Hammer directly refuted accusations of cannibalism, telling Morgan he has never consumed human flesh.

These allegations, which Hammer has consistently denied, led to significant professional consequences. The actor was dropped by his talent agency and removed from several film projects. Despite the controversy, Hammer maintains that all his relationships were consensual.

The Los Angeles Police Department had opened an investigation into Hammer following allegations made by his ex-partner, Effie Angelova. However, no criminal charges were ultimately filed against the actor.

In a recent appearance on Tyler Ramsey’s Painful Lessons podcast, Hammer reflected on his experiences, expressing a sense of gratitude for the events that have transpired. He revealed that prior to the controversies, he struggled with self-esteem and personal satisfaction, relying heavily on external validation from his career.

“I never felt satisfied. I never had enough,” Hammer said, describing his mindset before the allegations surfaced. He added that the recent challenges have forced him to confront these issues and learn to validate himself independently of his professional success.
