Dina Eastwood took to Twitter to defend her estranged husband, Clint Eastwood, after seeing negative public reactions to the news of their separation.

Dina was married to Eastwood for 17 years, and the two have a 16-year-old daughter, Morgan, together. Dina confirmed that the couple is separating and stressed that the two remain close despite their decision to live apart.

The news of the separation broke on Aug. 29, and looking at Dina’s Twitter feed since then one can tell she has been receiving less than supportive comments.

Dina’s daughter, Morgan, also took to Twitter to vent out her frustrations, tweeting, “I’m gonna punch someone” on Aug. 31, following the announcement of the split.

Dina scolded fans on Sept. 2, writing, “I usually don’t believe in ‘karma’ for people who target others with evil intentions. But, I sure hope it exists now. #makeyourbedsleepinit”

Later that day she shed some light on her frustrations, writing, “I don’t like reading negative things about Clint. He is a wonderful, good natured, brilliant person.”

Dina, who stared in the E! reality series Mrs. Eastwood & Company with her daughter, Morgan, and step-daughter Francesca Eastwood, has not spoken out about the separation since the announcement, nor has her husband.

Eastwood raised a few eyebrows on Sunday when he was photographed dropping an unidentified woman off at the airport. Though it is unclear whether or not people have been upsetting Dina with stories about her husband.

On Wednesday afternoon, Dina hinted that she is looking into taking legal action against those that appear to be bothering her, tweeting that she is “really enjoying reading up on the CA law against intentional infliction of emotional distress.”
