Showtime released a new promo featuring clips from Dexter, the network’s hit antihero series, and new drama series Ray Donovan starring Liev Schreiber. On June 30, both Dexter and Ray Donovan will premiere their eighth and first seasons, respectively.
“A better person would feel badly about LaGuerta’s Death,” says Dexter (Michael C. Hall) in the voiceover. “The truth is it solved all my problems.“ While you hear his remorseless words, the star serial killer is seen carrying on his business in the forensic lab and picking his son up after a soccer game. All seems right in the world for Dexter Morgan.
Meanwhile, Deb Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) is shown still struggling with the true identity of her brother, and the actions that she took to save him. Referring to having chosen to shoot Maria LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) instead of Dexter, she says, “I shot the wrong person."
Also of note, Yvonne Strahovski, who played Hannah McKay, Dexter’s love interest and serial killer in her own right, will be returning for the show’s eighth and final season.
