Derek Hough, who has won the Mirror Ball four times and counting as a Dancing With the Stars pro, hosted a beach party at the Revolve Beach House in Malibu over the weekend.

Hough snapped up pictures of hula dancers as he hung out along the surf with some buddies. The professional dancer also showed of his athleticism on the beachside volleyball court and later splashed about in a swimming pool. Hough also spent some time walking his rescue dog Romey along the shore.

It will be back to work for Hough soon, as he’ll be hosting his own one-hour special called the Family Dance Off on August 25. Talking about the show, Hough explained the inspiration behind the idea. “People always ask me, "When is it a normal person’s turn? Like when can I dance? I want to dance, but I’m not a celebrity or a professional dancer," he told Access Hollywood. “So that’s what this is. It's for the average person to get up there and dance and rock it.”

Hough will also be returning to Dancing With the Stars for the celebrity dancing competition’s 12th season. It’ll premiere on ABC Sept. 16.

The 28-year-old dancer could be seen on the big screen in the near future in Korean dance film Make Your Move 3D. Production has wrapped on the project, but it has yet to get a release date in the US.
