Dennis Rodman’s Daughter, USWNT Star Trinity Rodman, Reveals Her Strained Relationship With Father: ‘He’s Not A Dad’

Professional soccer player Trinity Rodman, the daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman, revealed that she has a strained relationship with her father growing up.

Trinity, who plays for the Washington Spirit and was a key player on the USWNT at the Paris Olympics, delivered this revelation during an interview on the podcast Call Me Daddy earlier this week.

“We never want to make him look bad, and that is at the cost of kind of holding it in a lot,” she stated during the interview. “I guess it’s just like the anger that I haven’t really been able to let out is, like, difficult for me.”

The podcast’s host, Alex Cooper, mentioned that some might assume money was not a problem for Trinity growing up because she is the daughter of a former professional basketball player.

“We had an expedition, and we kind of lived in that for a little bit,” the pro soccer player said. “We tried to live with him, but he’s having parties 24/7; he is bringing random b—- in. He loves the spotlight. He loves the cameras.”

Trinity recounted the moment she and Rodman shared when he surprised her at a Spirit victory during an NWSL playoff game in November 2021.

“I’m crying; no one knows what the f—‘s going on,” she noted.

Trinity then recalled walking over to her father, and all she “did was cry.”

“I was like – I’m walking over there, so mad, like, ‘F— you,'” the pro soccer player added.

“I walk over there, he grabs my head, and I just start bawling into his arms as if like it’s a daddy-daughter like – and I’m just like, ‘This is the first game you come to the quarterfinal. You missed the entire season, haven’t seen my games in three – four – five years,'” she stated.

During the interview, she mentioned that she “lost hope in ever getting him back.”

“I answer the phone now for my conscience to be like, ‘He needed to hear my voice’ before anything happens,” she shared. “That’s why I answer the phone, not for me.”

“He’s not a dad,” she declared. “Maybe by blood but nothing else.”

In January 2021, the Washington Spirit selected Trinity as the No. 2 overall pick in the National Women’s Soccer League.

In July, she led U.S. women’s soccer to victory in this year’s Summer Olympic Games.
