Demi Moore has provided a heartfelt update on the health of her ex-husband, Bruce Willis, amid his ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
Moore confirmed that the Die Hard star, 69, is “in a very stable place at the moment.” She emphasized the importance of meeting individuals with dementia “where they’re at,” adding, “There is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come from it.”
Willis, who shares three daughters with Moore from their marriage between 1987 and 2000, retired from acting in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia—a brain disorder affecting speech and comprehension. His FTD diagnosis was revealed in February 2023, leading to widespread support from fans and family members.
Moore’s comments follow recent statements by Willis’ current wife, Emma Heming, who detailed her approach to discussing the actor’s condition with their daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.
In an interview with Town & Country, Heming explained, “I’ve never tried to sugarcoat anything for them… they know that Daddy’s not going to get better.” She shared her goal of helping the family navigate the challenges while raising awareness about the misunderstood disease.
The Willis family has been open about Bruce’s journey, offering regular updates to his supporters. Moore recently reiterated her approach to the situation, stating during a panel in October, “The disease is what the disease is. But for where he’s at, he is stable.” She added, “When you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is great beauty and sweetness.”
As the family continues to advocate for greater awareness and research into FTD, they remain united in their mission to honor Bruce’s legacy.
“Bruce always believed in using his voice in the world to help others,” the family noted in a statement earlier this year.
