Pop star Demi Lovato will be singing “The Star Spangled Banner” at the outset of next months Super Bowl, the NFL announced on Thursday. It is the singer’s first appearance on the Super Bowl stage, and she joins pop superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, who are the featured performers of the halftime show. The game takes place on February 2 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

With the news, Lovato joins an esteemed list of names who have performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl, including Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys and Christina Aguilera. One of the most popular prop bets for the festivities is the Over/Under time for the rendition, so it will be interesting to see where betting lines place Lovato.
Lovato became a household name through her starring role in the Disney Channel’s Camp Rock, and went on to star in the channel’s series, Sonny with a Chance. After Disney, she has gone on to music success with pop anthems such as “Skyscraper” and “Sorry Not Sorry.”
The singer will have all eyes on her performance, as the Super Bowl is annually the most watched television event in the United States, drawing nearly 100 million views in 2019.
