On Tuesday, July 24, 2018, pop star Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital after paramedics found her unconscious in her Hollywood Hills home. TMZ reported that the 25-year-old artist was revived with Narcan — an emergency medication to reverse the effects of a narcotic overdose. A source close to Lovato told People that the star is now in stable condition.

Lovato has always been open about her struggles with mental illness, eating disorders and substance abuse throughout the years. She entered treatment in 2011 and then relapsed after leaving the rehabilitation center. A year later, Lovato joined a sober living facility.

In March of 2018, Lovato celebrated six years sober, but in June she announced that she had relapsed again when she released a new single titled “Sober”. Lovato gave a tearful live performance of the song at her concert in Brazil. She posted a video of the performance on her Instagram account.
Lovato is scheduled to appear in concert later this week, but no representative has spoken out about any cancellations yet. For now, we can only hope that Lovato’s condition will continue to improve so that she can seek rehabilitation.
