Demi Lovato was rushed to the hospital on July 24 for a suspected narcotic overdose, leaving her fans concerned for her health. She thankfully has been confirmed to currently be in stable condition.

DEMI LOVATO HEALTH UPDATE: SHE’S IN STABLE CONDITION, SEEKS PRIVACY

Lovato seemingly had a pleasant Monday evening partying in honor of a friend’s birthday, posting pictures on her private Instagram account that portray her having fun. Sadly, her overdose occurred the following day.

When paramedics arrived at Lovato’s home at Hollywood Hills, they used Narcan — a medication that reverses the effects of narcotics for use in an emergency — on the unconscious singer. Initial reports claiming the “Camp Rock” singer overdosed on heroin have since been disproven, and the drug was not discovered in her home.

According to TMZ, Lovato was transported from her house by ambulance to the hospital at around noon. Over an hour later, her aunt, Kerissa Dunn, publicly announced that the 25-year-old star was “awake and responsive.” A Lovato representative informed TMZ two hours later, then at 5:31 p.m., that “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to every one for the love, prayers and support,” adding how “some of the information being reported is incorrect” and the family politely requests privacy.

Lovato has been open about her struggles, having sought treatment for it in 2011 but relapsing shortly after leaving the rehabilitation center, entering into a sober living home the following year. She was then sober for six years, sadly relapsing last June when she announced her new single, “Sober,” the lyrics of which deal with her confessing that she broke her sobriety. According to E! Online, she confirmed her relapse as a way for her fans to keep her from straying again from the right path.

Sadly, the pop star has been enduring a rough period again; a source close to People says, “Things have been a total mess for months. She and her team severed ties, and they played a large part in getting her sober years ago. She hasn’t been in a good place.”
