Demi Lovato was the picture of glamor at the 2015 American Music Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles.
Lovato hit the red carpet at the ceremony in a black and gold beaded Lorena Sarbu Fall 2015 gown that featured a sheer open back. She completed her outfit with Lynn Ban jewels, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and clutch.
“Old school glam,” Lovato captioned a picture of herself on Instagram. “#CONFIDENT #DemiOnAMAs.”
While walking the red carpet, Giuliana Rancic asked Lovato what her secret was for embodying confidence. “My secret is taking care of myself. Learning to take care of myself in all situations,” Lovato told the E! News host. “So, on the road, in time spent by myself, in the shower, whatever. Just learning to love myself is really what did it for me. The rest kind of came easy.”
“Everything that I do, I hope that it has a purpose,” Lovato added of being a role model for her younger fans. “Whether it’s the Vanity Fair photoshoot or naming my album Confident.”
During the American Music Awards show, Lovato joined Alanis Morissette for a duet of the latter’s hit song “You Oughta Know.” The performance marked the 20th anniversary of Morissette’s 1995 album Jagged Little Pill, which featured “You Oughta Know” as one of its tracks.
Prior to the duet, Lovato had performed her own anthem “Confident” – the hit single off her latest album of the same name.
