A Delta flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) on Wednesday morning.
Delta 1092 departed from Atlanta, Georgia at 7:25 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Delta website, and while the plane was preparing to land in Charlotte, North Carolina, the landing gear wouldn’t go down.
A video filmed by one of the passengers shows the inside of the plane and the passengers calmly and silently holding the headrests in front of them.
One of the passengers can be heard asking, “Where’s the wheel?”
After the plane’s landing, traveler Gary Gibbs snapped some photos of the outside of the plane and took to Twitter to thank the crew for their quick thinking.
“Kudos to the skilled pilots and crew for their quick response and ensuring the safety of 96 passengers on board,” he wrote.
The flight attendants led the passengers to safety after they landed through emergency slides.
The plane, a Boeing 717, carried 96 passengers, two pilots and three flight attendants. No injuries were reported.
“Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people,” a Delta spokesperson said. “While this is a rare occurrence, Delta flight crews train extensively to safely manage through many scenarios and flight 1092 landed safely without reported injuries. We apologize to our customers for their experience.”
The CLT runway was closed until the plane was removed later that day.
