Def Leppard Postpones Winter Tour Dates; Joe Elliot Suffering Throat Issues
English rock band Def Leppard has had to postpone its Winter 2016 tour across America.
Def Leppard Cancels Tour
Def Leppard announced the disappointing news on the band’s website Monday.
“DEF LEPPARD has postponed the remaining dates on their Winter 2016 tour due to illness,” reads the statement on the site. “All shows from Feb. 2 (San Antonio, TX) through Feb. 17 (Allentown, PA) will be rescheduled including the previously postponed dates in Greensboro, NC (Jan. 27) and Orlando, FL (Jan. 30).”
According to the band, the dates will be rescheduled in the near future.
“Details on new dates will be announced soon. Tickets will be honored on the rescheduled dates,” the statement continued. “Please stay tuned to DefLeppard.com for the latest news on the postponed tour dates.”
Although Def Leppard didn’t reveal the nature of the “illness” that is causing the postponement or name the sufferer, drummer Rick Allen took to Twitter to elaborate, revealing that frontman Joe Elliot is having some throat trouble.
“The Doctor basically said that if Joe continues to sing without resting his throat for a month he might do permanent damage,” Allen tweeted.
Last month, Elliot had revealed that he was battling severe laryngitis.
