The death certificates for mother-daughter duo Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher have been released, citing their causes of death.
Fisher and Reynolds passed away one day apart on Dec. 27 and 28. Their certificates cite cardiac arrest and stroke as the causes of death, respectively. The precise cause of Fisher, who died at age 60, will require more investigation.
Fisher was hospitalized following a massive heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles on Dec. 23, and died four days later after being in a coma. Her cause of death is listed as “cardiac arrest/deferred,” indicating more tests need be run.
Reynolds, who died at age 84, suffered from an “intracerebral hemorrhage,” aka a stroke, the following day. She was making funeral arrangements for her daughter at the time of her collapse. Most would agree the stress of Fisher’s death caused a great deal of stress on Reynolds, and her death was a direct cause. Some say she died of a broken heart. Her son Todd Fisher said her last words were, “I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie.”
