A stuntwoman has died after performing a motorcycle stunt on set of Deadpool 2, according to Vancouver police.
The victim’s name has not been released, and an investigation is being led by WorkSafeBC and The Coroners Service of British Columbia. According to the coroner’s officer, the death was deemed an accident and caused by blunt force trauma.
“We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning,” 20th Century Fox said in a statement. “Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”
Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds also took to social media to share his feelings. “Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool. We’re heartbroken, shocked and devastated… but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them — along with each and every person she touched in this world.”
Deadpool 2 is a follow-up to 2016’s Deadpool, which earned $363 million domestically. The sequel began production in late June, and Reynolds captioned the moment on social media with, “Feels good to be back.” Deadpool 2 will be released some time in 2018.
Brown will be accompanied by guest artists Scotty McCreery, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ashley Cooke and Dasha.
