Dead & Company’s ‘Dead Forever’ Residency Captivates Audiences At Sphere – Setlist & Ticket Info

The iconic Grateful Dead spin-off band, Dead & Company, has launched its highly anticipated Dead Forever residency at the immersive Sphere venue in Las Vegas.

The three-night opening weekend, held from May 16 to 18, saw Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti and Jay Lane take the stage to deliver performances of classic Grateful Dead songs, such as fan favorites “Fire on the Mountain,” “Truckin'” and “Franklin’s Tower.” The band’s signature mind-bending visuals were showcased on the venue’s 160,000-square-foot wraparound screen, which created an immersive psychedelic landscape.

The event saw the presence of several notable celebrities, such as Mayer’s best friend, Andy Cohen, as well as Diplo, Miles Teller, Chantel Jefferies and Cruz Beckham.

The “most integral” piece of the four-hour show was the iconic Grateful Dead skeleton “rising from the grave, doing a little jig and grinningly mounting a motorcycle to go journeying through a psychedelic landscape,” according to Variety‘s review of the first night.

This residency marks a significant milestone for Dead & Company, which formed in 2015 when former Grateful Dead members Weir, Hart and Kreutzmann teamed up with Mayer to revive the spirit of the iconic band. The group has since gained a reputation for their massive summer tours, where they play to packed crowds at baseball stadiums and festivals across the country.

The Mayer-led revival group is often credited with introducing the music of the Grateful Dead to younger generations, and the “Dead Forever” residency at Sphere promises to continue this tradition.
