De Matteo Joins 'Housewives'

Drea de Matteo, who won an Emmy for her role in the Sopranos, is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives. Nicolette Sheridan, who played the trampy Edie, exited the show this spring as producers tried to lower the soap's costs. De Matteo will play the matriarch of an Italian family which moves onto antic-filled Wisteria Lane. (Photo: WENN)
