Daytime Emmy Awards 2016: ‘General Hospital’ Takes Home 5 Awards [Winners List]

The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards took place Sunday night at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, where the best in daytime television production was celebrated.

Leading the pack with wins at the 2016 Daytime Emmys was ABC’s General Hospital. In total, the soap opera took home an impressive five awards, including Outstanding Drama. It also won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Tyler Christopher), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Sean Blakemore), Outstanding Drama Series Directing Team and Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series (Bryan Craig).

Days of Our Lives actress Mary Beth Evans won for Outstanding Lead Actress in a a Drama Series, while The Young and the Restless‘s Jessica Collins won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Despite their current public rift, Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan won for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for their work on Live!. Other talk show awards went to The Talk, The Chew, and Dr. Mehmet Oz for The Dr. Oz Show.

Game show awards went to The Price is Right and Craig Ferguson for Celebrity Name Game.

Over the last 40-plus-years, we, and many of our children, have followed her iconic journey as ‘Maria’ on Sesame Street and the National Academy is thrilled to be able to salute her tonight for her extraordinary achievement.”
