Dax Shepard Suffers Major Injuries In Motorcycle Accident
Actor Dax Shepard will require surgery after receiving several injuries caused by a motorcycle accident. Known for his role as Crosby Braverman on the popular NBC comedy-drama television series Parenthood from 2010 to 2015, Shepard reported on his podcast Armchair Expert that he damaged four ribs during the accident while riding around a racetrack in California.
During an interview Shepard explained how he got into the accident. “I was passing six guys on Sonoma Raceway on a motorcycle, and I was braking very, very hard – hard enough that the back wheel was off the ground for a good 100 yards,” he recalled. “I was totally at blame. I thought I would be able to slide in between, but someone turned in and I was already under full brake and I couldn’t go anywhere.” Despite being badly hurt from the motorcycle accident, Shepard initially insisted on completing his drive. This did not last long as the extreme amount pain that the actor was feeling prevented him from continuing any further.
Shepard’s wife, actress Kristen Bell, reported this was not the first time that Shepard injured himself in a road accident. During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Bell stated, “He was sitting on the edge of a cliff and he put his hand up just to look out and the weight of his arm tipped his Polaris RZR – is what he was on – over,” she said. “You don’t get injured when you’re inside them, but I will tell you something, it did crush all the bones in his hand.” Despite needing surgery after the injuries, Shepard seems to be in high spirits and is not letting the accident he received on his motorcycle bring down his mood.
