David Schwimmer Loses Big In Three-Way Rap Battle On James Cordon’s ‘Late Late Show’
A rap battle between actor David Schwimmer and James Corden was crashed by comedian Rebel Wilson on a Friday night segment of ‘Drop the Mic’ on Corden’s The Late Late Show.
Corden started the battle taking blows at Schwimmer by referencing his role in the ’90s hit series Friends, poking fun at his lack of name recognition by millennials.
Touching on his role as Robert Kardashian in The People v. O.J. Simpson and as the voice of Melman in Madagascar, Corden also got in jabs at his more recent works.
Corden noted Schwimmer’s real-life conflict with Jennifer Aniston likely alluding to his omission from the guest list at her 2015 wedding.
Schwimmer made his rebuttal noting that Corden is generally typecast as the plus-sized sidekick.
After two rounds, Wilson entered the battle, sized up both men, and opened her attack using girl power. She followed up with body positivity (mentioning her lack of a thigh gap) while gleefully groping herself throughout her verse.
Wilson talked about the antiquity of Schwimmer’s fame and also referenced Friends when she stated that his career is on a “break” – like Ross and Rachel.
In the end, Wilson dissed Corden and one of the most popular segments of the show ‘Carpool Karaoke.’ She finally closed by plugging her own work in Pitch Perfect.
