David Mueller, a former Denver radio host, filed a lawsuit against pop star Taylor Swift after he was fired from his job for allegedly touching Swift inappropriately during a photo session.
At the Pepsi Center on June 2, 2013, Mueller was backstage ready for a meet and greet with Swift, The Denver Post reported. Mueller, and his girlfriend, Shannon Melcher, quickly posed with the pop star and then left. Afterwards, however, a member of Swift’s security team claimed that Mueller had inappropriately touched Swift’s backside.
Two days later, Mueller was fired from his job at KYGO radio. Mueller denied that any inappropriate contact occurred and noted that he had often met with celebrities over the years without any incident.
Mueller filed the lawsuit on Thursday in the U.S. District court in Denver.
Swift’s publicist gave a statement on Saturday saying that Mueller’s employer had been given evidence of the alleged event, and that the station made its own decision about Mueller.
