David Lucado, first spotted across the table from Britney Spears on a Valentine’s Day date, has been popping up next to the pop singer frequently lately.

Lucado, 27, like Spears, grew up in the South. Born and raised in Virginia, he later moved to Atlanta before relocating to Los Angeles where he works both at a law firm and as a bartender. Not one to bask in the limelight of dating a celebrity, Lucado deactivated his private Facebook page after his identity was revealed, according to E! News.

On Sunday, Spears posted a picture of her with Lucado at the Cirque du Soleil One Drop show in Las Vegas. “The @Cirque @ONEDROP show … SO WOW!! #1night1drop Watch it online & support #worldwaterday,” she tweeted with the photo.

During the pair’s weekend in Vegas they had dinner at Meatball Spot where they, “seemed happy, sitting across from each other and chatting for most of the meal,” a source told People. They also went to a Shania Twain show with a group of friends, including Spears manager, Larry Rudolph, at Caesar’s Palace.

Lucado, who grew up on a farm, according to an Us Weekly insider, has already met Spear’s family and kids. A source told People, “Her family first made sure that David was a good influence before they let Britney get closer to him.

"The boys think of David as a fun play pal. It was a big step, she's very excited."

Spears split with her fiancé Jason Trawick in January, and announced the end of her yearlong engagement in a statement that claimed that they would remain friends.
