David Beckham’s Former Assistant ‘Bothered’ By ‘Beckham’ Documentary’s Handling Of Affair Reports

Rebecca Loos, former assistant to David Beckham, opened up about how her alleged affair with the athlete was portrayed in his new Netflix docuseries, Beckham.

Rumors about Beckham and Loos’ affair are addressed in the fourth episode of the Netflix series.

Reports of Beckham’s infidelity to his wife, Victoria Beckham, began in 2004 when he hired Loos. As his assistant, Loos was instructed to find the Beckhams a home in Spain after the soccer player signed with Real Madrid.

According to Loos, it was during this time that she began receiving text messages from Beckham “late at night.”

Though Beckham has publicly denied any cheating allegations, Loos and other women have come forward to accuse the athlete of being unfaithful to his wife.

The docuseries provides an overview of the scandal without mentioning specific details or names, and neither of the Beckhams confirms or denies the affair. The story primarily focuses on the press coverage of the couple and how the claims affected Beckham’s career.

“Every time that we woke up, we felt that there was something else,” Beckham said in the fourth episode. “I think we both felt at the time that we were not losing each other, but drowning.”

“Victoria is everything to me,” he continued. “To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters. And at that time, we needed to fight for each other — we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for.”

Loos told the Daily Mail that she was “bothered” by how the series framed the cheating allegations.

“The stories were horrible, but they were true,” Loos explained. “And he’s the one who’s responsible for all of this. He’s the one responsible for his wife’s suffering. He’s the one who decides to lie to her, to say, ‘We don’t have to tell my wife.’ He’s made all those choices.”

“I also have a family, I also have children, and they also have Google and they can also watch documentaries,” she continued. “And I want them to know that their mother was brave enough to stand up against [the Beckhams]. And to stand up for the truth.”

In recent months, Beckham has been busy in his role as part owner of the Inter Miami CF club and their big acquisition of Lionel Messi.
